We arrived in Berlin shortly after noon and walked along the East Side Gallery to our hostel on the river - yes, we're staying on a boat! However, we realized upon trying to check in that no reservation had been made in our names. Thankfully, there were still some open beds on the boat and they were able to accommodate us.
From here, we decided to head into the city "center" for lunch. Note: "Center" is in quotes because we've found that it doesn't really have a main center in which everything branches off of. We found a small pasta chain and decided to check it out. Wasn't my favorite, but wasn't terrible either.
Our next stop was Ritter Sport's Schokoladewelt. Here, we created our own chocolate bars (mine had raspberries, almonds, and cocoa flakes). We also bought some fun chocolate flavored to bring home for sharing!
We stopped for pictures at the German Cathedral, French Cathedral, and Concert House.
On our search for dinner, we stumbled on a fun Mexican restaurant, Que Pasa. Still full from our chocolate indulging, we ordered nachos and salads to tide us over until the morning.
Our walk back to our hostel found us one of the most beautiful sights in Berlin - the sun setting behind the Berlin Cathedral.
