Our first full day in Amsterdam started out with an early morning train to the cit center and a two-hour line for the Anne Frank House. While the wait was most definitely worth it, arriving just 30 minutes before the opening (instead of right when it opened) would have really helped us out. The museum itself was incredibly well presented and very powerful. Each of the rooms are unfurnished, per the request of Otto Frank (Anne's Dad), in honor of the void that was left by those who were killed.
Following our time at the Anne Frank house, we grabbed lunch at a place near the main square, CAU was actually an Argentinian restaurant, but it has excellent sandwiches and was right near the main plaza.
We went on another free walking tour here - with Sandeman's, but left part way though to shop for warmer clothes. IT IS COLD HERE.
Kelsey and I both found a jacket for the rest of our trip and then enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Dante's. I finished my meal with Apple Cake (or pie as we call it in the States), while Kelsey tried their homemade Panna Cotta.
