We got to experience our first flight delay of our trip today, but still made it to our adorable hostel! We're actually staying in Vinkeveen (which is about 30 minutes from Amsterdam) at a place called Lucky Lake Campground. We rented a caravan for our two-night stay - see the adorable pictures from above.
After unpacking, we took the free shuttle to the train station and headed toward the city. We grabbed lunch (and checked our emails/Facebook/texts with their wifi) and then spent the rest of our way walking around to the different cheese stores and sampling the different kinds. We may or may not have also stopped into a few chocolate stores.
For dinner we checked out a vegetarian chain called Maoz - highly recommended by one of my favorite travel bloggers, Life in Limbo. You start by choosing your pita size, and they add falafel according to that. From there, you can self-stuff your pita with as many and as much of their toppings as you'd like. I'm not a huge falafel fan, but this place definitely is a must try when in Europe.
In our best efforts to avoid the rain, we headed back to Lucky Lake to warm up and keep dry. Oh, and we booked a side trip to London.
